the first step is a bitch

FADE IN: Claire and Brian.

“Ok…how do we do this?” she asks.

“What do you mean?”

“It’s just, it’s a lot.”

“Yeah. We knew that already.”

“I guess. It’s just, overwhelming.”

“Well, we begin with one step.”

She looks over there, “I wonder how they got started.”

“Hey, Earth to Claire.”

She looks at him, “The first step is a bitch.”

He smiles, “That’s the beauty.”

“Right.” She sighs.

“Are you having doubts?”

“No, not at all. I just feel a little directionless.”

“How come? We know the first step.”

“Yeah, I guess,” she plays with her fingers.

“We’ll know the second step when it’s time to know it.”

“What, are you Yoda or something?” she smiles.

“Yeah, you can call me that,” he sits up.

She chuckles. Another sigh, “Ok, I guess I should trust you.”

“Don’t get too excited.”

She looks at him, “I am. And I do trust you.”

He smiles, “Cool. Let’s get to work.”
